Lessons and Israeli Samaritan History

The Israeli-Samaritans

Lesson  4

The Names of Shehmaa

Israeli Samaritans believe in the uniqueness of the Shehmaa of Israel. Shehmaa went before the world and will later be the world, and he accompanies his people of Israel throughout history. The Israelite Samaritans write their name as it is written in the Torah: Yut-eyy-Baa-eyy = Lord, but they are not uttering the name but say instead in every place where it is written in the Torah and in prayer = Shehmaa = o Name, Israeli Samaritans are careful not to pronounce his name "יהוה" in order not to take his name in vain as the Second Commnandment says. Shehmaa has many titles in the Torah, such as: Eloowwem = Shehmaa of all gods or "I will be what I will be = Eyyee Eshaar Eyyee", which is a description of the Shehmaa that has been in the past, and He is in the present and He will be in the future. At all times: past-present-future as present in your name. So it will be, it will be for all time. He is also called "El" in the sense of the one Shehmaa, which has no peer. He is the one who created the world. He is also called "Il Sheddee", meaning there is no need for another Almighty.. He was known in his name Shehmaa to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and from their sons, first of all, Moses, to whom his name was known at Sinai. = Mount Horev in their first meeting when his angel spoke to Moses = Mooshe from the burning bush. He assigned Moses the mission to free the Israelites from slavery in Egypt and accompanied his people on their journeys across the Sinai Desert to bring them to the Promised Land. He is the Almighty of heaven and earth, he is the Almighty of all gods and the Master of all masters, the great Almighty, who will not lift his face and take any bribes, make an orphan and widow and loves a stranger to give her a dress. Angels run their errands for good and for evil. These angels were revealed to the ancestors of the Israelite nation to Moses and Joshua his successor. The Angels before Him in the Holy Sanctuary, and stand before the people of Israel in times of joy and festivals, on Saturdays, in times of war, and deliver those who deserve it, from all sufferings. The people of Israel must love Shehmaa with all their heart and with all their soul and all their power, to keep His statutes, His commandments and His laws every day.
